- Protest signs and posters on the Black Lives Matter Memorial Fence, located on the north side of Lafayette Park in Washington D.C.
There are seven black and white still photographs of protestors in various areas. Some of these photographs show people holding the American flag, on a car raising their fist, in front of the Washington monument, holding a “Black Lives Matter” flag. Underneath the photographs is the Instagram handle of the person that took the photographs which reads “@IAMKAMALX” on a piece of white cardboard.
There is a white sheet of paper that reads “Women Want Respect + Safety” which is written in pink and in green reads “Peace Justice” that is within the text.
There is a large poster that reads “Seize THIS moment to bend the moral arc back toward justice.” Next to the statement is an image taken by Magali Gauthier of people who are kneeling in protest and raising their fist holding signs of their own.
There is a Clorox bleach container on the ground and a “Get Well Soon” balloon that is tied to it.

The Black Lives Matter Memorial fence was a temporary chainlink fence installed in the area north of Lafayette Park and the White House from June 2, 2020, until January 30, 2021. The fence prevented public access to the area, and it also served as an important site of protest and self-expression.
Activist Nadine Seiler played a crucial role in protecting and caring for the fence, along with Karen Irwin and other activists in a loosely-formed group informally known as the "Guardians of the Fence." Nadine Seiler and Aliza Leventhal systematically documented the fence over the course of months, and Seiler became the de facto curator of the fence.
