Black House Autonomous Zone
- Title
- Black House Autonomous Zone
- Coverage
- H Street N.W. Washington D.C.
- Description
- The Black House Autonomous Zone was an area north of Lafayette Square and the White House. This area, which was the site of ongoing protest, was declared an "autonomous zone" by protesters and cordoned off using tents.
The zone included the Black Lives Matter Memorial Fence within its limits. DC police removed tents and barriers marking the boundaries of the zone on or around June 23rd, 2020. Protestors continued to declare the area autonomous and marked it with the letters "BHAZ."
This representation of the Black House Autonomous Zone consists of house-like structures placed in a large circle. The structures appear to be made of stone. - Rights
