Title
Justice 4 Elijah McClain | Bringing Back Bowery
Coverage
325 Bowery, New York, New York 10003
Description
A collage of paint and paper or fabric scraps, constructed on plywood board, in memory of Elijah McClain. McClain was a 23-year-old African-American massage therapist from Aurora, Colorado who died after being placed in a chokehold by police and being sedated by paramedics. Six gold stars create an arch over McClain's portrait, which is surrounded by collaged clouds. "Justice 4 Elijah McClain" and the artist's signature is found at the bottom of the work.
