Description
An account of the resource
This piece was created the weekend of September 26th and 27th 2020 at a community art event and food drive organized by Victoria Theater @vtac_mn (instagram), Creatives after Curfew @creativesaftercurfew (Instagram), City Mischief Murals @citymischief (Instagram)
The mural has a colorful background. It looks like rolling hills with a river or a road going through it, and a sun. Writing is overlaid in white letters: "In the Pursuit of happiness and Freedom and Liberation we examine and study the migration patterns of our past, present and future generations." Stylized art deco-ish letters spell out "Frog" and "Rondo" on the left and right sides. This is in reference to the Frogtown neighborhood/ Rondo Neighborhood which is a callback to this neighborhood's past/present as a neighborhood for the underdogs. Rondo was predominantly Black and working class community. It got divided up by I-94 roadway. Frogtown is an immigrant working class neighborhood.
"Imnizaka Othunwe" "Ashkibog-Ziibiing" is written along the top of the piece.
