Protest signs and posters on the Black Lives Matter Memorial Fence, located on the north side of Lafayette Park in Washington D.C.
There is a black and grey photo transfer of a child and his mother and on their shirts it reads “Don't Deport My Mom” and this photo transfer is on plywood that is on a building with red painting. Next is a poster that is a drawing of a man holding a growing tree that have blue, grey, yellow and red colors for the flowers and butterfly, and the words read “Sprout Hope” and “Que Nazca la Esperanza” which translates to Let Hope Be Born. Underneath this reads “Freedom for Migrant Children.”
There's a pole that has five stickers on it. Three of the stickers have five blue feathers and it reads “Build Peace.” The other two stickers have two hands that are held up that read “What is in your hands to build peace?” and have different statements written on the hands such as “Witness” “Discomfort” and other words that are illegible. This fence has multiple posters that read “Do You See Trump Cheating?” “Trump Is A Danger To Us All” “Remove Trump” “Axis of Evil Male Supremacy White Supremacy Wealth Supremacy”” Black Lives Matter” “Black Voters Matter” and “Black Trans Lives Matter” with the last on a trans flag. There is a cardboard poster that reads “You Can't Silence Us Black Lives Matter” that is washed out from the rain. Another poster reads “Protect Black Womxn” and another poster reads “Talk First Shoot Never.” -

There are seven black and white still photographs of protestors in various areas. Some of these photographs show people holding the American flag, on a car raising their fist, in front of the Washington monument, holding a “Black Lives Matter” flag. Underneath the photographs is the Instagram handle of the person that took the photographs which reads “@IAMKAMALX” on a piece of white cardboard.
There is a white sheet of paper that reads “Women Want Respect + Safety” which is written in pink and in green reads “Peace Justice” that is within the text.
There is a large poster that reads “Seize THIS moment to bend the moral arc back toward justice.” Next to the statement is an image taken by Magali Gauthier of people who are kneeling in protest and raising their fist holding signs of their own.
There is a Clorox bleach container on the ground and a “Get Well Soon” balloon that is tied to it.

There is a pastel yellow building that is opposite the Black Lives Matter Memorial Fence and is boarded up. There are painted images that are on the plywood that is covering the windows. These images are all spray painted on the plywood and one is the sunrise (or sunset), one has a woman with a mask with her hands in front of her and looks like she is praying. Another image has the side portrait of a man and there is text that reads “Lve” and “Pinder Story.”
There is a black ripped poster and underneath it is a poster that is pink, purple, and blue, that has a woman in the middle with her fist raised and holding a baby. The woman is in a circle and there is text that reads “Today I am Free • Today I am Strong” There are broken chains on the edge of the poster intertwined with flowers and roots. There is a dove at the top and text that reads “You’re wrong about me I’m a sister and a daughter [;] A mother, aunt, grandmother [;] Not a criminal Not a statistic [;] I have a life I have a dream [;] I am a queen a [illegible]…”
There are multiple posters on a wall that reads “Is My Son Next ??????” “Fuck MPD” (which is spray painted in yellow on a black background) #Black Power” “Black Lives Matter “Algeria for BLM” “Who do you protect? There are different paintings that are on pieces of paper that are on the wall and other ripped posters. One poster reads “We need more Peace Life Love” There is a drawn peace sign in blue, a green tree and a pink heart respectively over the words, “peace” “life” and “love”.
There is a poster that reads “The Palm Collective” and is on a black poster but has been spraypainted the colors of the rainbow with a symbol on it.
There are two portraits in a black and grey color scheme, and it has yellow and green in the background and seem to be representative of traditional African people.
A poster reads “Abolish Prisons” and it has two hands that are breaking cell bars with a red circle with a line through it
Another poster reads “It’s not Right or Left its Life or Death.”
There is a poster that looks like a rendition of Mount Rushmore but has the heads of Martin Luther King Jr., Frederick Douglass, Malcom X, Barack Obama, and Nelson Mandela. The poster reads “VOTE” and on the bottom it reads “They Sacrificed.” There is a green handprint on the wall underneath this poster and a paper that has a QR code that leads to a website that lets people register to vote.

In these images, there is text reading "No Justice No Peace", in white spray paint, outlined with purple and green. This text covers multiple posters with the same or similar statements. A painted portrait of Breonna Taylor includes a photograph of the artist who painted it. There are more posters that read "Silence is Compliance", "Solidarity" and other text. A typed letter titled "A Call to Americans Everywhere" is taped on the fence. -
More Justice More Peace Street Mural, Victoria, B.C.
"More Justice More Peace" is painted on the pavement in various colors.
The mural was organized by Charity Williams, a bronze medal Olympian and member of the national rugby 7s team. Each letter was sponsored by a local business and a grant from the city of Victoria. -
When the Power of Love Overcomes the Love of Power
