Blues 4 George at Gordon Parks High School
A mural made from painted plywood covering the front entrance of Gordon Parks High School. The mural is 5 panels long. Five blue George Floyd portraits are painted large and in the middle of each white panel. These portraits are the focal point. Multi colored letters underneath the portrait heads spells out: JUSTICE FOR GEORGE. A yellow light is at the top of the mural shining down on the blue portraits. A reddish orange heart is hidden in the glowing light.
Seitu Jones collaboration
To the left of the mural you can see a panel painted blue with an "R" in white. This is the very edge of the giant "Black Lives Matter" mega mural also made out of painted plywood panels that decorates the outside of this school.

Cafe Lilla Justice for George Floyd/ Black Lives Matter
This is a photo of the exterior building of Cafe Lilla. The windows have been boarded up with plywood. "Justice for George Floyd" is written on the North side. "Black Lives Matter" is written on the West (street facing) storefront not pictured, "No Justice No Peace" is also written on the Western exterior plywood. Note, this photo was taken on may 30th 2020. On June 15th 2020 the "No Justice No Peace" portion was modified, but I will submit that as it's own submission in the database. Also note, many local businesses during May 30th we're boarding their buildings up with plywood because of the rioting and looting taking place throughout the Twin Cities.

Do The Right Thing
George Perry Floyd (October 14, 1973 - May 25, 2020) was a 46-year-old Black American man who was murdered by former Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin after Chauvin knelt on Floyd’s neck for nearly 9 minutes in the Powderhorn neighborhood of Minneapolis, Minnesota on May 25, 2020. Floyd’s murder sparked an international movement for Black Lives Matter, the largest civil rights movement of the century. On March 12, 2021, the city of Minneapolis agreed to pay $27 million to settle a wrongful death lawsuit brought by Floyd's family. On June 25, 2021, Chauvin was sentenced to 22.5 years in prison for his crimes.
