Description
An account of the resource
The storefront of Trieu Chau Restaurant. The doors and windows are boarded up with plywood. Black posters with white letters that read: "It's OK to be Black" are stapled to the plywood boards around the building. In this picture, they are on the right. White pieces of paper with black type that say "Community Owned" are stapled to the boards around the building as well.
Additional context: during the riots immediately following George Floyd's Death, protestors and rioters targeted chain stores for looting. Many local black and minority owned businesses made signs and showed solidarity with the protestors to persuade them against doing property damage to their businesses.
As of July 17, 2020 Trieu Chau is listed as being closed due to Covid-19. The George Floyd protests combined with Covid-19 has had a negative impact on the economy that is not fully understood yet.
