From the artist "Ifrah Mansour, a local multimedia artist and black Muslim refugee created a Mural version of her Somali hut installation series. She wanted to address the multidimensional experience of being black in America. Immigrant blacks are both allies and as co-strugglers facing police brutality and racism. But we must recognize the historic pain that blacks and indigenous folks carry as we fight for our liberation. This is why Assata Shakur’s quote was chosen to show our inner connectedness towards our liberations." ]]>
