Love + Rage on an Upside Down US Flag
U.S. flag draped, upside down, on plywood where the entrance to the East Precinct usually is. "Love + Rage BLM" is written across the stripes in black spray paint.
Quote in small print sharpie under the word "Rage." The Quote reads "'Do not let anyone quench your fire. Do not let them dismiss your love nor pacify your rage. My Love, DO NOT WATER YOURSELF DOWN.' Charlie Landeros. Murdered by EPD while picking up children from school January 11th 2019."
Displaying a flag upside down is symbolic of great distress in the midst of danger to life or property. In this instance, it may be correct to say that the flag is representing the distress felt by American people as a result of police corruption, brutality, and the murders of so many Black people.

Wash Your Hands / R.I.P. George
A small flyer from the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) reads "Wash Your Hands" in bold red font. The text is surrounded by translations of the sentence in black font in Swahili, German, French, Khmer, Laotian, Oromo, Somali, Hebrew, Vietnamese, Thai, Chinese (Mandarin), Ojibwe, KaRen, Nepali, Korean, Hindi, and Russian.
The flyer at first glance appears to have fallen by mistake, but is now part of the memorial composed by the public in tribute to George Floyd at the intersection that he was murdered at outside of Cup Foods in South Minneapolis. The memorial includes objects such as flowers, stuffed animals, seashells, handmade crafts, handwritten notes, and potted plants.

Flowers for the Future
On an all-white background, the poster depicts a black-and-white illustration of a Black child seated to the left and a white police officer in full riot gear to the right.
Crosslegged, the child has short curly hair and is dressed simply in an all-white short sleeve shirt and shorts. On the ground near the child's right hand are multiple crayons, which the child has used to draw flowers and a heart that reads "BLM" for Black Lives Matter. The crayons and the child's drawings offer the only pop of color in the image. The child extends their left hand up, offering to the police officer a hand drawn yellow flower with a simple green stem.

Artists for George
A memorial to George Floyd at the intersection of his murder at 38th and Chicago in South Minneapolis surrounded by potted plant, stuffed animals and cut flower bouquets. A cardboard sign reads in black Sharpie lettering "Artists for George." Behind the foreground, other memorials and chalk drawings are visible nearby. A flowerbed, painted black, reads "No Justice No Peace" in bold white painted lettering.
The photographer stood outside of Cup Foods in order to take this image. Cup Foods was the corner store that had called the police to accuse Floyd of attempting to make a purchase with a counterfeit bill, ultimately leading to the fatal confrontation that resulted in his death.

"I Can't Breathe!"
A chalk drawing on pavement, surrounded by memorial flowers and other memorabilia in tribute to George Floyd. The chalk drawing is of a figure, face down on the concrete. Outlined in a neutral tone, the figure's form is established with blue chalk and accented with white. Laying flat on their chest, the figure's legs extend straight behind them. Neutral tones sprout a halo of light around the figure's head, while wings extend out from their shoulders. Four prayer candles line the figure's halo. At the figure's feet, bold lettering reads in fully capitalized text: "I Can't Breathe, I Can't Breathe".
Just beyond the lettering, a white painted wicker stool provides a seat for spectators to pause for a moment. Alongside the stool, a sign painted to look like a section from a brick wall reads in white lettering: "A man who uses force is afraid of reasoning."
